2024 NFL Draft Big Board
305 Prospects Ranked by my Draft Model
Last week, I introduced my NFL draft model using the wisdom of crowds, college production, athletic profile, and other factors to predict NFL success for each position. Those outputs are then combined with NFL contract data to create an analytical big board that tries to better account for positional value in the draft.
As a result, premium positions get pushed up the board with positions such as RB, LB, and IOL not showing up until much later than traditional analysts. The goal is to combine the knowledge of the scouting and analytics communities to try and better predict the outcome of draft prospects. In the write-up, I showed the model’s early returns for the most recent draft classes are better than the consensus big board for most positions and even the actual draft capital for some positions.
Before the NFL Draft gets underway I’m sharing my final big board for this year’s class, with 305 prospects ranked. One note, if a prospect isn’t ranked it’s not because I don’t think they are worth being drafted but because I am missing too much data for them to be included in the model. Next year I hope to expand the number of players I can include.
